Guys!!!!! I filmed a vlog!!! (I also made one last month, but don't watch that, it's garbage) ahaha, I'm pretty bad at this, but hopefully with practice, and when school ends, I will be a lot better at it. Give it a watch if you have 5 min to spare ;)<br />

A Break from WinterWow, it's been a hot minute and a half since my last post D: I'm sorry... I guess I just haven't really been making this a priority. (Is it too late to say "new year, new me?" LOL) But yeah, seriously, I'm going to attempt to make more of an effort at this... So, you'll see me SLIGHTLY more often. Emphasis on the slightly, for now, anyways. It's the last stretch of school, so hopefully after that, You'll see me on an almost regular basis haha.<br />
<br />
The photos I'm about to show y'all are literally from a month ago, but better late than never, right? It was a pretty cold winter day, as all Canadian winter days are, when my friend and I decided to check out the <a href="http://www1.toronto.ca/wps/portal/contentonly?vgnextoid=b2a9dada600f0410VgnVCM10000071d60f89RCRD" target="_blank">Allen Gardens Conservatory</a> in downtown Toronto. Inside, we were met with so so so many plants of different climates, all of which were at least 15 degrees, which made me very very happy.<br />
<br />
We walked around, took photos, and surprisingly, I don't look that bad in some of them LOL. After, we went to a Bulk Barn that was nearby... and let's just say some damage was done ;)<br />
<br />
Anyways, here's some of the photos from that day:<br />

Hello online world!<br />
<br />
It's been a while... Sorry. I've been busy. If you asked me a year ago if I thought second year could be any more hectic than first I would have been like, "Wait, it can get worse?!" So yeah, whoops.<br />
<br />
Yesterday, the results of the presidential election came in.... And even though I'm a Canadian, I'm still just like "!?!?!?!?!" how did that even happen, guys!?<br />
<br />
ANYWAYS. My friend took some photos of me, and I ended up derping around with his camera, here's some of the snaps:<br />

Start with measuring how much paper you need and mark it with a pen about 1-2cm away from the edge of your notebook as shown. Then, cut along the line.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It should look like this. Then flip over, and cut the corners off. (I've marked it out in the next picture) We do this so it's easier to fold over.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The finished inside cover should look like the bottom picture. But, if you want to make it look more professional, you can take another piece of scrapbook paper, or even plain white printer paper to cover the raw edges we made.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<h2>
Ombré Method</h2>
<div>
If you don't want to go out and get scrapbook paper, or you want something a bit different, this one is for you! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoO1WTCdKfSG-fsBiibw7dvcm-nPen9Bqqt7OHQg9TqU80EM93GTHfzR-QfM1RhXia7NGVpKCQ2OVJAVMT_dvL_s35ye-b4oAbKpD2TyLGRd2i1VY1onvEYdqE2s-0qEhdsq_rvxQjxP0/s1600/ombre.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoO1WTCdKfSG-fsBiibw7dvcm-nPen9Bqqt7OHQg9TqU80EM93GTHfzR-QfM1RhXia7NGVpKCQ2OVJAVMT_dvL_s35ye-b4oAbKpD2TyLGRd2i1VY1onvEYdqE2s-0qEhdsq_rvxQjxP0/s640/ombre.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Start out with painting the top of a sheet of printer paper with your chosen colour. Then, slowly add white to the colour bit by bit while you move down the paper, and you'll get an ombré. When it's done it should look like the picture on the right. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This is optional, but you can add a layer of Mod Podge over top the entire page. I did that because I didn't like the texture of the acrylic paint.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
To apply it to the notebook, you just do the same as the scrapbook method.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<h2>
Labels </h2>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
This part is done on the computer. I used Photoshop for this, but you can really just use Microsoft Word or another word processing program. (For Photoshop users, make the image size 8.5"/11" and 300dpi) I started by making a circle then copy and pasting the number of circles I need. Then, I wrote the subject title inside the circle. The font I used is <a href="http://www.dafont.com/passiontea.font" target="_blank">Passion Tea</a>.<br />
<br />
<h2>
Putting it Together</h2>
</div>
<div>
All's left to do is print out your page of titles and stick them onto your notebook! Now you have these awesomely cute notebooks :)</div>

And for those of you that don't know, the legal drinking age in Ontario is... 19! Gurl got turrrrrnnnnt (I'm kidding, I would never do that lmao) But, I wanted to do something, so I got together with a friend and we went to a rooftop <a href="http://www.the51stfloor.com/" target="_blank">bar/restaurant</a> in the heart of downtown Toronto.<br />
<br />
We mainly went there for the photos, though, seeing as everything there was expensive af. We were not disappointed, the view of the 6ix was great, and the food that we did order tasted great (no photos of the food, whoops!) Then after that, we went to get some real dinner at a nearby ramen place. The ramen was delicious, and my only complaint was that it was a bit too salty. All in all, a great night :)<br />

PS. The reason I keep delaying that DIY notebook post y'all want is because I'm waiting for a very specific back-to-school sale!!! In that sale, the notebooks I'll be using will cost 5 cents instead of the usual $1.10. Yes, call me a cheapo; I do not care. But the tutorial is coming, I promise!</div>

Pokémon GOI really like walking. Now, that might sound really strange coming from a person who HATES exercise, it's actually true. I often take super long walks (I'm talking like 10km) for whatever reason (eg. the dogwood photo challenge, just cuz, and Pokémon GO) and sometimes I see cool things.<br />
<br />
<br />
So, I thought I'd take this change to share some of those photos with you, and also to rant about the app that is Pokémon GO.<br />

Now, these last photos were taken during my first official adventure for the purpose of playing Pokémon GO. The last photo of the Don River is unedited.<br />
<br />
Now, I just have a few things to say about Pokémon GO. Let me first just say that I know it hasn't been released in Canada at all yet, so I'm to expect problems with the official apk, but STILL.<br />
<br />
The servers suck SO much. Like, the amount of times I've arrived at a Pokémon gym and found that the servers were down is so frustratingly high. Also... isn't there more you guys could do to make your app more battery saving???? Like why must the screen be on to load anything? If only the page could still be working while the screen was off, that would be SO much better.<br />
<br />
All of this is just me being salty that it hasn't been officially released in Canada... And also the fact that I've run out of Poké balls. :(<br />
<br />
With that being said, despite all the anger that this game has caused me, I actually still really like it.<br />
<br />
<br />
Thanks for reading,<br />

Basically, it's a month where you try to avoid all the one-use plastics as much as humanly possible. Click <a href="http://www.plasticfreejuly.org/" target="_blank">here </a>to join the challenge!<br />
<br />
Why do we want to go plastic free? Plastic is not biodegradable, can release toxins when heated, and are really bad for aquatic life and aquatic birds. Even though plastic can be recycled, it takes a lot of energy to do so.<br />
<br />
I know it can be really hard to completely shut out plastic out of your life so suddenly, but I've come up with several easy solutions we can all adopt to minimize as much plastic from our daily lives as possible. I've kind of touched on this subject before, so if you haven't read that post, <a href="http://rockinstrawberries.blogspot.ca/2016/02/dont-be-such-waste.html" target="_blank">here</a> it is!<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjT7jVGLnKWLUOYJEUv3MlQizgK_0-UIc8JH_NoHVDMmCEzO9oDqn1zZmvij-wcQlBWLygBoiMIXBt-55fZF1QTZ8t7O0sdi-tCdMQEtkpstGV6P7wmm_55K5pHACuSrBNPOlf7Pb2_TBY/s1600/20160703_173554.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjT7jVGLnKWLUOYJEUv3MlQizgK_0-UIc8JH_NoHVDMmCEzO9oDqn1zZmvij-wcQlBWLygBoiMIXBt-55fZF1QTZ8t7O0sdi-tCdMQEtkpstGV6P7wmm_55K5pHACuSrBNPOlf7Pb2_TBY/s640/20160703_173554.jpg" width="640" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Such red!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<b>1. Use renewable shopping bags!</b><br />
<br />
In Toronto (and probably other cities as well), many grocery stores will charge 5 cents per plastic bag, so it would be a good idea anyways. The next time you go shopping, bring some reusable bags with you, and say "No thank you" to the ones offered!<br />
<br />
Quite a lot of times, when I'm stopping by at the shops, I'm already carrying a school bag, so I just end up putting whatever I picked up in there. The reusable bags are also quite easy to come by, as I usually end up finding lots of them at promotional events. As you can see from the picture, I appears I have many red ones :)<br />
<br />
<b>2. Plastic-free food storage</b><br />
<br />
Food storage can be done without plastic wrap. In my opinion, I think it's so wasteful to use that stuff. You use it for a day or two, then throw it away forever. Ugh! Instead of using plastic wrap, you can use glass jars or containers, stainless steel, and even paper! For more ideas on food storage, read <a href="http://www.treehugger.com/green-home/how-store-leftovers-without-plastic.html" target="_blank">this</a>.<br />
<br />
<b>3. Plastic water bottles, WHY?!</b><br />
<br />
Same idea as the plastic wrap, but EVEN WORSE. If infuriates me so much to see people carelessly buying cases upon cases of water being bought, and then people only half drinking it before just leaving it to rot (jokes, plastic doesn't rot). The sole reason of the entire bottle of water is to hold 2 cups of water, and then most likely never to be used again. Most of it isn't even recycled.<br />
<br />
I know that there are some countries where tap water is literally so dirty that you cannot safely drink it. But, in my glorious country of Canada, as well as many other first world countries, we have the privilege of clean drinking water. Why don't we use that to our advantage?? (Also, would it help in some countries to boil the tap water? I don't know... That's what my mother used to do in China) For more info on bottled water, watch <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Se12y9hSOM0" target="_blank">this</a>.<br />
<br />
So much energy is put into making the bottles, then shipping the bottles out to put on shelves, only to find that a majority of it comes from the tap anyways. What a waste! And let's not even begin on what happens to it after you're done with it.<br />
<br />
The solution? So easy! Use reusable water bottles! It only takes max 30 seconds more out of your day to fill up a reusable water bottle, but will give you a lifetime of happiness, just knowing you didn't contribute carelessly to the destruction of the biosphere. (I am so cheesy, I apologize)<br />
<br />
<b>4. Travel mugs</b><br />
<br />
This one is kind of like the water bottles. Cafés like Tim Horton's, Starbucks, McCafé (and probably 95% of all other cafés) all have cups with plastic lids, plastic lining, and sometimes even use plastic straws! So much plastic going towards a drink that you can finish in like 10 minutes! If you buy yourself a coffee 5 times a week, that'll be 20 lids, 20 cups, and maybe 20 coffee stirrers/straws each month! Why would you do that when there's such an easy solution?<br />
<br />
Starbucks (and maybe other places) even encourages the use of reusable travel mugs. Every time you buy a drink with a travel mug, you get a 10 cent discount on your drink (that's 26 dollars a year, if you drink 1 coffee 5 times a week)<br />
<br />
If you're looking for cute travel mugs, Starbucks themselves have some, and I also really like the ones by <a href="http://www.keepcup.com/" target="_blank">KeepCup</a>.<br />
<br />
<b>5. Bar soap</b><br />
<br />
As I was doing my readings for this blog post, this one surprised me a little at first. But it makes so much sense when you think about it. Every time you buy another bottle of hand soap, shampoo, shower gel etc, you're buying another bottle of one-use plastic. On the other hand, most soaps come in paper packaging. This one is actually going to be kind of hard for me, though, as I prefer liquid soap to bar soap. But, I would gladly make the change.<br />
<br />
In the picture, I have the shea butter one from Dove, and while that's a good one, my FAVOURITE one by Dove is the green tea and cucumber one (sounds strange, but don't hate it till you sniff it). If heaven were a scent, it would smell like the Dove green tea and cucumber scent.<br />
<br />
In regards to shampoo and body wash, Lush actually has shampoo bars and body soap that you can buy! I'd never even heard of <a href="http://www.lush.ca/Shampoo-Bars/shampoo-bars,en_CA,sc.html" target="_blank">solid shampoo</a> before this, but apparently, they can last even longer than regular shampoo.<br />
<b><br /></b>
<b>6. BYO Cutlery</b><br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMSXE3OG4i0JjIkiCJZ07rv4s33FmPUO3d-pF7pyeZDHSWM5vZfNGxPj3QnW5xxOvXZYPaXGR_C0swyVz2_uEAtheJUgbtjNVZ4UtLS9JwtE2pwp_92NpKo6Pco97v1UL4rPYiyvHxdEo/s1600/20160703_205046.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMSXE3OG4i0JjIkiCJZ07rv4s33FmPUO3d-pF7pyeZDHSWM5vZfNGxPj3QnW5xxOvXZYPaXGR_C0swyVz2_uEAtheJUgbtjNVZ4UtLS9JwtE2pwp_92NpKo6Pco97v1UL4rPYiyvHxdEo/s640/20160703_205046.jpg" width="640" /></a></td></tr>

</tbody></table>
When I was at university in my first year, I carried around with me a spoon and fork so that I wouldn't have to continuously use new plastic ones every time. I would recommend you guys do this too, makes for a very guilt free meal :)<br />
<br />
<b>7. Biodegradable plastic </b><br />
<br />
Like I said before, usually, I would say use reusable cutlery, but, if you're throwing a big party and you don't have the muscle or time to wash 50+ sets of forks, spoons and knives, you can always spend a little more and go the biodegradable plastic route. (Or use the good ol' bamboo chopstick haha) This should be used as a last resort, though, even though some plastics are labeled as biodegradable, they are often not 100% safe for the environment.jackiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16286068849353593974noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1631537806260500919.post-24287601705461956592016-07-01T15:21:00.002-04:002016-07-01T15:21:34.221-04:00ONE YEAR! and Canada Day<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
The other day, I came across some Youtube videos about asexuality, and it got me thinking... (Video <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hjewDk0jWno" target="_blank">1</a>, <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQwqJpoF2Xg" target="_blank">2</a>, <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DrwjMjoJU30" target="_blank">3</a>) And then I watched Tyler Oakley's most recent <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8SRi8BeNWzY" target="_blank">video</a> about the events that happened in Orlando... I started wondering what the Q in LGBTQ+ really means, like, I know it stands for queer, but what does "queer" actually mean?<br />
<br />
Now, I went to trusty Google with this question, and some of the results that I found confused me. Some websites said it was basically a modern word for gay, lesbian, transgender etc, while others said that it was a word for politics (this is the part that I don't understand). But, after reading multiple websites, Ive come to the conclusion that at least in the acronym LGBTQ+, the Q is basically an umbrella term for everything else, an "other" section.<br />
<br />
This "other" section doesn't get talked about very often, does it? The videos mentioned above on asexuality certainly doesn't get much attention. In fact, I've seen many people in Facebook comments, and other comments online saying that it doesn't even exist.<br />
<br />
But it does!<br />
<br />
Even less talked about is the term "demi-sexual." While I was looking for the definition of "queer" I came across some lists of "common LGBTQ terms" and their definitions (<a href="http://itspronouncedmetrosexual.com/2013/01/a-comprehensive-list-of-lgbtq-term-definitions/" target="_blank">1</a>, <a href="https://internationalspectrum.umich.edu/life/definitions" target="_blank">2</a>, <a href="https://lgbt.wisc.edu/documents/Trans_and_queer_glossary.pdf" target="_blank">3</a>). Only one of those mention that term.<br />
<br />
Okay, so what is demi-sexual? Lemme tell you a thing... For many people, sexual orientation is just one thing; if he's gay, he's <i>just</i> gay, and if she's straight, she's <i>just</i> straight. But really, sexual orientation is a spectrum. It's okay if you feel like you can't be entirely defined by any of the terms that are currently out there, because everyone is different.<br />
<br />
I feel like before I explain demi-sexuality, I should probably define asexuality. An asexual person is a person who does not feel sexual attraction towards other people. That is not to say they <i>can't </i>have sex, it's just that they don't want to, and don't feel the need to do it. Like I said before, sexual orientation is a spectrum, so different people can feel asexuality in different degrees. Some may have sex and be impartial to it, and others may never have sex because that's just not for them. A great analogy is presented in this <a href="https://youtu.be/NQwqJpoF2Xg?t=224" target="_blank">video</a> (the cake analogy is honestly the best thing ever).<br />
<br />
Now, enter demi-sexuality, as I'm sure many of you can derive, demi-sexual people are kind of the "in-between" of sexual and asexual people. <b>Demi-sexual: a sexual orientation in which the person will not feel any sort of sexual attraction with another person, unless there is a strong emotional bond, usually in a relationship</b> (I'm sorry it took me so long to get to my main point :s)<br />
<br />
For my entire life, I never understood why I didn't feel the same feelings that other people felt. I hated it when people put their arm around me, used me as an arm rest, put their head on my shoulders, gave me long hugs, held hands etc etc. But all the other people felt okay with it.<br />
<br />
And even more than that, I didn't understand how friends with benefits worked, like it's mind-boggling to me how someone could have sex with someone else and not be in love with them. That just doesn't make sense to me, the same way it doesn't make sense to a straight person when they think about having sex with someone of their same gender.<br />
<br />
For me, there are very few people that can stand very close to me/touch me without making me feel uncomfortable (the same way you'd feel weird if a stranger started invading your private space), and there are even <i>less </i>people in which I would feel comfortable having sex with. I felt very alone, in the world of "omg let's hookup" or "everybody's having sex, let's do it!"<br />
<br />
Then, one day, I was scrolling on Tumblr (as you do), and I came across a text post that talked about demi-sexuality. Obviously, I don't have the link to the original post, as this was a long time ago, but as soon as I read it, it was like everything suddenly made sense. There are other people that feel the same way as I do!<br />
<br />
Since then, I have been put in several situations in which I felt the need to explain my sexual orientation, and the usual response is just, "what's that?" or "you haven't tried hard enough." Like WTF, I think I know how I feel, thank you very much.<br />
<br />
I guess what I'm trying to say is that it kinda sucks to feel so alone in this. I don't even know another person who feels the same way I do. And it really doesn't help when the people I do try to explain it to don't even believe me.<br />
<br />
I don't think I'm ever going to "come out" and make a Facebook post, or whatever, because that would just be too much explaining, so here I am, writing this post, so that I can link the individuals to it in the future, when I find myself in those situations again. (props to me being so lazy)<br />
<br />
<br />
If you can relate with me, PLEASE tell me, oh my god, it would be such a relief to be able to actually talk to a real human being that is like me. As always, thanks for reading.<br />
--J<br />
<br />
PS. in no way am I trying to say that my life is so hard, so horrible, so difficult, or that I suffer more than anyone else, please don't think that. I know that other people have it much much worse, but I just want to tell a story that doesn't get heard often.<br />

It's basically a year long challenge where you take a photo every week that is inspired by a given prompt. I thought I'd go through some of my past photos and explain a few of them to you guys (so this entire post is basically a huge self-promo session hehe). All of these posts can be found on my <a href="https://www.instagram.com/rockinstrawberries/" target="_blank">Instagram</a>.<br />

The first prompt for 2016 was to begin things off with a selfie. But me being me, I can't take selfies to save my life. However, it was the beginning of the year and I wanted to complete the challenge badly so I settled with a picture that included as little of me as possible.<br />

In the photo, the lighting is pretty shitty and that's why it looks kinda blurry, but Neesh made it up by being an awesome model :)<br />

Week 8 consisted of the big ol' panorama. Taken on the gloomiest day ever (thanks Canada). It was raining, super windy, and freezing, so I didn't even bother to check if the photo was a good one, or to take more than one. Thank god it turned out okay (or I would have been photoless for a week)<br />

I didn't even know what highkey meant in the photography world before this, lol. This photo was actually taken when I tagged along with my <a href="https://www.instagram.com/bichengsha/" target="_blank">friend</a> during his shoot of the week. While we were walking home, we came across my old elementary school. Feeling very nostalgic, I asked to stop by and take pics. Trying to get even more of a schoolgirl vibe, I posed on the bench in the typical picture day pose— knees together and hands in lap.<br />

This photo was taken after my first trip to downtown Toronto alone for the sole purpose of wandering around. I was hoping to get a picture of Chinatown (as I haven't been there very many times). I went in not knowing what to expect, and came out with lots of photos and bubble tea.<br />

And, I, like most other people, love snuggling up in bed to watch a good TV show, so I thought I'd share some of the ones I like the most with you :)<br />
<br />
<h3>
1. Sherlock</h3>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://cdn.playbuzz.com/cdn/ba6cab82-46b5-444b-88e7-9b94e5e43558/89f6cd14-a683-4056-a0f9-72b44546e8d1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="448" src="https://cdn.playbuzz.com/cdn/ba6cab82-46b5-444b-88e7-9b94e5e43558/89f6cd14-a683-4056-a0f9-72b44546e8d1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
To me, Sherlock isn't really a TV show but more more of a series of movies, as every episode is 1.5h long. I love Benedict Cumberbatch in this show, I love how he can string together long lines at an amazing speed and not mess up. I also love Sherlock's relationship with his partner-in-crime, John Watson. BBC does a very accurate modern interpretation of Conan Doyle's books. If you haven't seen the series, <b>you must</b>.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<h3>
Avatar</h3>

<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
By Avatar, I'm talking about both The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra. The first thing that I really noticed with these two shows is the different art styles. Legend of Korra seems to have a very comic book art style, while Last Airbender looks more like an anime. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Even though these two shows are meant for children, it still has a very gripping storyline, one that I would say is better than some of the adult TV shows I've seen. While I was watching these series, I found myself wishing that magic like this existed, that I, too, could be a bender. It's the perfect mixture of serious action and comic relief. If you want to watch this show (which you really should), I recommend clearing up your schedule, because you will not be able to stop at just one episode.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<h3>
Scandal</h3>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.awesomelyluvvie.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/Scandal-Logo.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://www.awesomelyluvvie.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/Scandal-Logo.jpg" height="309" width="640" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Yes, yes, I know this is not the most recent show, but I started about a week ago and I must say, I'm hooked. I'm not even done the series yet, and I already know that it's one of my favourites. I love how many powerful, smart, and cunning women there are in this series, I love how the main character is a strong independent black woman. This show has a way of conveniently leaving out crucial information that the plot needs and ends every single episode on a cliffhanger, which only makes me want to see the next episode <b>even more</b>, and thus the reason to my binge-watching behaviour for the past week.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
As a person who is a sucker for corny endings, the love triangle I found myself in was perfect to keep my eyes peeled to the screen. I can't properly review this one, as I haven't finished it, but there is something truly amazing about this show, and if you were to watch even one episode, I think you'd see what I mean.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<h3>
Gossip Girl</h3>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://cdn.nflximg.com/us/boxshots/tv_sdp_s/70143811.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://cdn.nflximg.com/us/boxshots/tv_sdp_s/70143811.jpg" height="360" width="640" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Another oldie, but another goodie. The story starts when the super rich and super popular Serena Van Der Woodsen arrives back in the Upper East Side of NYC. There, we meet her best friend, Blair Waldorf. Blair, who is by far my favourite character is so sassy and cunning; her remarks make my entire life.<br />
<br />
As we watch, we get entangled in the drama of the Upper East Side, watching as an anonymous blogger, Gossip Girl, leaks everyone's secrets. If, like me, you've dreamed about living lavishly, with more money in your bank that you could imagine, this show is for you. Side note: this show contains one of my favourite ships everrr XD<br />
<br />
<h3>
The Vampire Diaries</h3>
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://cdn.playbuzz.com/cdn/a5404b80-1007-4bea-b584-e4f9c225202f/713ef92e-9a45-4038-9646-fb6a6d21438e.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://cdn.playbuzz.com/cdn/a5404b80-1007-4bea-b584-e4f9c225202f/713ef92e-9a45-4038-9646-fb6a6d21438e.jpg" height="360" width="640" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Don't judge till you've seen it, okay? I know the vampire fad died out a long time ago, after Twilight, but, this show is nothing like the die-hard romance you find in many other vampire series. Even though this show is mainly following Elena Gilbert and her love interests, it's so much more than that. Through The Vampire Diaries, a whole new world is created, a world whose history seems to all surround in Mystic Falls. While I ship Blair and Chuck so hard, they have nothing on Delena. Delena forever!!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<h3>
InuYasha</h3>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.wallpapersxl.com/get/709174" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://www.wallpapersxl.com/get/709174" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I have no shame in admitting that I am in love with this children's series. Honestly, I don't even understand how this was meant for children, the storyline is so bloody and gruesome sometimes that I would rate it PG 13 at least. If you're going to watch this, I recommend watching it in Japanese with subtitles. That way you can really see the exact words of each character and their intended tone.<br />
<br />
From the beginning, you can tell Kagome and InuYasha were destined to be with each other, but, for 99.9% of the story, they remain only friends, and I love that about the story. There love for each other is completely emotional and not tinted by physical attractiveness at all and that hits me right in the feels. Not ashamed to say that they're my OTP <3 <3 (insert crazy fangirl noises here)<br />
<br />

<div>
Canadians represent!!!! I feel so proud of the fact that I can recognize some of the sets in Suits because it was shot in Toronto, even though the story itself takes place in New York. Suits is about an illegitimate lawyer who is a super-genious-mastermind and the lawyer that hired him. As their relationship grows, and drama surfaces, we learn that they would go to any lengths possible for the people they love, especially each other. This is another binge watching worthy show, so set aside a lot of time for this one, folks!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<h3>
Once Upon A Time</h3>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Why don't I hear people talking about this more often!?!? This show is golden! I can't be the only one who still loves a good fairytale... This show starts when Emma is taken to Storybrooke by Henry, a son she had and gave up for adoption. Henry tries to convince Emma that she is the daughter of Snow White and that all the fairytale characters were stuck without their happy endings. Emma is the Saviour, she is the one that will bring back all the happy endings. But, being the normal, sane adult Emma is, she doesn't believe Henry. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
This show is so friggen good. Unlike Disney, where everything is super duper happy and everyone is fine and dandy, Once Upon A Time tells these fairytales in such a real and heart-wrenching way. The producers almost make you believe that this could have indeed happened, in a far away land, in another reality. This show is the perfect mix of magic and the real world. If you really like princesses, and fairies, magic, and adventure, this show is the one for you!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>

<div>
Yeah, when I started to write this post, I didn't realize it would end up just being a massive fangirl session for me. So, sorry if I don't make sense at some points; it's only because I am so so so excited and passionate about these shows. They honestly are the best ever. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
If you have any shows that you think should have made this list, please comment below, because binge watching shows is one of my all time favourite activities ;)</div>

As a child, I absolutely LOVED reading, but slowly, as I got more and more homework and other stuff, I stopped. But its long overdue that I start again.<br />
<br />
So I went to the library and signed some (a lot) of books out and I thought I'd share them with you. Going from left to right is a short review for each book.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQe59CGud4tU6XVpTgLuIht5SKrEcxRsirSQxjM4hM0udig92t2rMhBfFzg-AvgyghK29DtYkC_6Qi28ltkSer_1iRgZQACX8d7SjraPJDzcbR5_T53a5hq0lCUZeJKlQ0AC_4j4Eg7Fw/s1600/20160526_190321.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQe59CGud4tU6XVpTgLuIht5SKrEcxRsirSQxjM4hM0udig92t2rMhBfFzg-AvgyghK29DtYkC_6Qi28ltkSer_1iRgZQACX8d7SjraPJDzcbR5_T53a5hq0lCUZeJKlQ0AC_4j4Eg7Fw/s640/20160526_190321.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<h3>
Garden Spells - Sarah Addison Allen</h3>
<div>
Garden Spells is about a woman named Claire Waverley who loves structure and things that stay. Throughout the book, she finds that the best things are found in things (or people) that don't have definite structures, and things that might not last forever. You find out why she's so terrified of uncertainty as old faces come back into Claire's life, and new ones appear. This book of magic realism is one where people find where they belong.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I've only read 2 of Sarah Addison Allen's books thus far but I love how she incorporates magic into normal daily life and how all the main characters are in at least their late 20s and still trying to figure out who they are. It really reminds you that you don't need to have your whole life planned out before you finish high school.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<b>Rating: 4/5</b></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<h3>
The Sugar Queen - Sarah Addison Allen</h3>
<div>
This book made me cry! I was reading this one late at night, and parts of it really made me feel the feels. Josey is 27 and lives a life where she is constantly trying to right her wrongs from childhood. As a result of this, she doesn't really have a social life. She learns the importance of forgiving herself, and in doing so, she creates a life that she wants and finds meaning in the word "happiness." </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I love how Allen makes you get attached to all the characters, not just the main one and how all their different storylines mix to make one. Again, like Garden Spells, magic is incorporated smoothly into daily life.</div>
<div>

<h3>
<b>A Great and Terrible Beauty - Libba Bray</b></h3>
<div>
Gemma has immense power that most would not be able to even imagine. On her 16th birthday, Gemma suffers the loss of her mother, a death that she was able to witness in a vision. She is then sent to the Spence Academy to learn to become a proper lady of the 19th century. There, she finds out more about her mother, and learns about the responsibility and power that sits on her shoulders. This book is part of a trilogy (I am currently reading the other two books, reviews coming up!)</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<b>Rating: 3.5/5</b></div>
<div>
<b><br /></b></div>
<div>
<b><br /></b></div>
<h3>
The List of my Desires - Grégoire Delacourt<span style="font-weight: normal;"> </span></h3>
<div>
<span style="font-weight: normal;">Jocelyne lives an ordinary middle-aged life, wishing for something better. Suddenly, she is given the choice to change everything, to go from ordinary to extraordinary. Sadly, she spends too long debating what it is that she wants, and the choice is taken out of her hands in the most startling way.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
For me, what really resonated with me is that sometimes, if you are given a chance to change something you don't like, you should just go for it, <i>carpe diem</i>! Jocelyne spent too much time thinking, and lost hers.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<b>Rating: 3/5</b></div>
<div>
<b><br /></b></div>
<h3>
<b>Every day - David Levithan</b></h3>
<div>
Imagine waking up to a new body and life everyday, but loving the same girl. This is the life that was given to A. Is it possible to sustain a relationship with such bizarre circumstances? This book explores topics of gender, sexuality, and the importance of outwardly features. As A dabbles with his affection for this girl, A learns what it means to truly love someone.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
It was a really interesting concept, and I appreciate that the ending was as realistic as it could be (even though I am a total sucker for over-the-top corny endings hehe)</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<b>Rating: 4/5</b></div>
<div>
<b><br /></b></div>
<h3>
<b>The Five People you Meet in Heaven - Mitch Albom</b></h3>
<div>
This book is an interesting approach to what happens after life, the 5 people you meet are people that wil help you understand your life. Eddie is a war veteran and maintenance guy at an amusement park; it was just another normal day— until he dies. The 5 people he meets help him realize that his life wasn't a waste like he thought it was and helped him understand why things happened the way they did.<br />
<br />
<b>Rating: 3.5/5</b><br />
<b><br /></b>
<h3>
Bridget Jones's Diary - Helen Fielding</h3>
</div>
<div>
This diary is a peek into a 30-ish year old woman struggling with obnoxious people asking about her non-existant love life. Along with that, we also take a look at her perception of her body, smoking habits, and alcohol consumption. We get to read a time-accurate break down of her life from January to December, trying to find love before it's too late. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I'd just like to mention that I found it extremely weird that sometimes she would have like 54 cigarettes a day (like how!?!?!), also I found it a bit annoying that Bridget wrote in a very brief way and sometimes did not use proper grammar.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<b>Rating: 3/5</b></div>
<div>
<b><br /></b></div>
<h3>
<b>Faerie Wars - Herbie Brennan</b></h3>
<div>
The storyline of Faerie Wars takes place in two different worlds, ours, and the Faerie world. It's a story of a rebel prince, Pyrgus who is in danger. He finds himself lost outside of his world, and in ours, and meets a boy named Henry. They, along with other allies, work together to find out who is coming after the prince and his family. Pyrgus learns what it means to be a prince, as he avoids death time and time again, and finally steps into his responsibilities.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
This book had quite a slow start for a few chapters, but once it picks up, oh man, does it really pick up. I could not put it down! It is the first book in a series by Brennan, so again, I will be reading the rest of this series and maybe doing a full series review.</div>

<br /></div>
<h3>
This One Summer - Mariko Tamaki and Jillian Tamaki</h3>
<div>
I don't usually read graphic novels, but when I do, I apparently pick very good ones haha. Perhaps one of the things I love most about this graphic novel is how Canadian it is. Written and illustrated by Canadians, there are little references to Canada everywhere (eg. Tim Hortons, UofT, Niagara falls etc.) Seriously, if you're Canadian, I would say read this just to see if you can find all the references! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Patriotism for my country aside, the art completely blew me away. I am in love with the art style, how everything looks to be a cross of watercolour and charcoal, and how the ink is an off black-ish purple, the font, and how detailed everything is.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The story follows one family on their vacation to Awago Beach. For as long as Rose could remember, they always came to Awago Beach and has many great memories there. This summer, however, is different. Her parents are fighting, and she gets in a mess of her own. This story is a great one of transitioning from childhood to teen-hood. </div>

<h3>
China Rich Girlfriend - Kevin Kwan</h3>
<div>
This isn't in the picture, but I also signed it out (I returned it before I took the picture, sorry!!) But here's a picture from the web:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.vaughanpl.info/leisure/wp-content/uploads/China-Rich-Girlfriend.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://www.vaughanpl.info/leisure/wp-content/uploads/China-Rich-Girlfriend.jpg" height="640" width="422" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
China Rich Girlfriend is a sequel to Crazy Rich Asians. In this book, we have a detailed description of the lives of people so rich, you'd get a headache just trying to fathom how much money they have. A hilarious read about scandals and problems you'll never have, but somehow, Kwan still makes the characters so darn relatable.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>Rating: 4/5</b> (I'd rate Crazy Rich Asians 4.7/5 though, I remember it being <b>amazing</b>)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
---</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I have a plan to read as many books as I possibly can before school starts up again, so expect many many more to come! If you have any book suggestions, please leave them down below, I would love to hear what you've been reading, or what books you love. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
As always, thanks for reading,</div>

A week ago, I visited the Art Gallery of Ontario (or AGO for short). Even though I wasn't there for very long, I managed to snap some pics. I hope this post inspires you to go out more often and see what you can find in your city :)</div>
<br />
By the way, this trip to the AGO was free. Often, museums or galleries will have certain days/times of the week where there people can have free entry (sometimes this is limited to students only, though). So, before you plan any trips, check to see if you can get in for free! haha<br />

Here's my secret: Every time you feel one of those really huge pimples starting to form, use a 1-2 of drops of tea tree oil (like the one shown in the picture) and rub over the area. Repeat for a few days until you feel that the eruption has passed. Even though the pimple bump is there for a few days, it never progresses into an actual pimple! (does that make sense?) Note, a little goes a <b>long </b>way!<br />
<br />
Tea tree oil is an excellent way to get rid of an oncoming pimple because of its antimicrobial properties. This removes the bacteria that are the cause of the pimple so that the pimple stops developing. Note that tea tree oil (and other acne treatments) might also dry your skin out, so remember to moisturize!!jackiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16286068849353593974noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1631537806260500919.post-20404655289574169692016-05-25T15:30:00.000-04:002016-05-25T15:30:00.803-04:006 Musts to Have the Best Summer Ever<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYGMo88LhPrluGufIOTJ0yJ3eKPqhEX65aaGAvuSQL2gYHNFknyX4ycMf_qlTVzWv6iraMHjw6H9lnPc38Cr6EmH-wdyxl3oVIkb28wKjNlv4180lsETBB4Nrg3Oo5Vc_U30dyaOguArM/s1600/IMG_3856.PNG" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYGMo88LhPrluGufIOTJ0yJ3eKPqhEX65aaGAvuSQL2gYHNFknyX4ycMf_qlTVzWv6iraMHjw6H9lnPc38Cr6EmH-wdyxl3oVIkb28wKjNlv4180lsETBB4Nrg3Oo5Vc_U30dyaOguArM/s640/IMG_3856.PNG" width="640" /></a><br />
<br />
Summer is upon us!! (Almost) Although, for us Canadians, I doubt it'll ever be summer :( Here are a list of 6 things that will be sure to make your summer a much more enjoyable one!<br />
<br />
<h3>
1. Sunscreen</h3>
<div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOAWK8OnQ7jbcO_L1Xx4FOOhQC7XkC6pX_7Q4b2-6hCIG3Lhttg22p51Y6-s8909DyZSDOQ_d_UZG2FTWBZgtAAgGrUW2LG053s_m6IF1RHivLNrgHaMD3QM3PytSkD6LsBGMRgfYfz20/s1600/20160524_190009.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOAWK8OnQ7jbcO_L1Xx4FOOhQC7XkC6pX_7Q4b2-6hCIG3Lhttg22p51Y6-s8909DyZSDOQ_d_UZG2FTWBZgtAAgGrUW2LG053s_m6IF1RHivLNrgHaMD3QM3PytSkD6LsBGMRgfYfz20/s640/20160524_190009.jpg" width="640" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Yes, that is a silly band. Don't hate.</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
This one is a no-brainer! How can you have a good summer with burnt peeling skin? Ouch!! I like to use a good heavy duty one like the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen with a whopping SPF 60. It's sure to keep those harmful UV rays from hurting you!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<h3>
2. Make a Summer Bucket List</h3>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1xYdFGf4HHOakPlj9tFWdg4J_dbWDVEHFXVqzRNHX7MwGDmFmRnXwd_bgkOavi3_T3NehQSfvL80d6yquvok3b2TMEMywv06rpeAr_KQzZT8ne1pl-NlUY9rjkobiaVsc8gYsMOs3gu8/s1600/20160524_190204.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1xYdFGf4HHOakPlj9tFWdg4J_dbWDVEHFXVqzRNHX7MwGDmFmRnXwd_bgkOavi3_T3NehQSfvL80d6yquvok3b2TMEMywv06rpeAr_KQzZT8ne1pl-NlUY9rjkobiaVsc8gYsMOs3gu8/s640/20160524_190204.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
A "best summer ever" means different things for different people. So, grab a pen and paper and ask yourself, what does "best summer" mean to you? Jot some ideas down, but don't make it TOO crazy and undoable XD. Now, the challenge is to do it all! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Even though you may not be able to travel far, I'm sure there are still many nooks and crannies in your city/town that you have not yet seen, so do a google search and make that list! The picture shows some of the things that I would put on my "Summer of '16 Bucket List."<br />
<br /></div>
<h3>
3. Camera</h3>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirgn8qfHaAMVFJvPgoylJrc1gFdOKUE6AVna6KCPVw29rsX-1hQkeSkO3jWTyOuRc9AzkuET8jygJoFwMwisO1kcei1TMRBRhBJJJuRRUspBOFPPa1iBCu4zv5ndeW295SIQ1MrmE0qR4/s1600/20160524_190031.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirgn8qfHaAMVFJvPgoylJrc1gFdOKUE6AVna6KCPVw29rsX-1hQkeSkO3jWTyOuRc9AzkuET8jygJoFwMwisO1kcei1TMRBRhBJJJuRRUspBOFPPa1iBCu4zv5ndeW295SIQ1MrmE0qR4/s640/20160524_190031.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
In the picture, I have an old point and shoot camera that I rarely use anymore (I basically pulled it out just for the picture haha). But, you can use any kind of camera to capture your memories this summer, whether it be your mobile camera (phone cameras are getting ridiculously good these days!), a point and shoot, a DSLR, or even a polaroid! I think taking pictures with a polaroid would be so cool, because they're printed instantly and you can use it to make wall art or a scrapbook.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<h3>
4. Journal</h3>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAlcQH2S_nXGIdlX8pclfLJ2f42Hc2a-NoXLvgSvYMR2tz1p1OkxGy2OrTuNTtnkp8xRuHe3R8Pjzbh9qUvIJMq59LjpC9lAb7Ck5C4YM5NF-WkS81V8hfDiCKyqi_eFPL9uZnJEhQjgI/s1600/20160524_190121.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAlcQH2S_nXGIdlX8pclfLJ2f42Hc2a-NoXLvgSvYMR2tz1p1OkxGy2OrTuNTtnkp8xRuHe3R8Pjzbh9qUvIJMq59LjpC9lAb7Ck5C4YM5NF-WkS81V8hfDiCKyqi_eFPL9uZnJEhQjgI/s640/20160524_190121.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
This one kind of ties in with the last one if you have a polaroid. Like a camera captures moments, a journal can capture emotions and entire days. They can even help you plan your adventures! In my photo, I show a page of my bullet journal. I plan to get some washi tape to help my decorating process, and maybe even splurge on a polaroid! (we'll see)<br />
<br />
<h3>
5. A Favourite Summer Dress/Outfit</h3>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6yhR5erOdtAzrJ49oOj2vHX3li9IX8ErS6Vc5VWB01yxpQhjoA9tvLS2QhxR0gRfZeL8BVNM3cXxWN8gjoEb0tSyX1U0-_IaXAyIG0x8Db6CrT0H6bbemj_XY231xTT0pM1-Nmwf9jlc/s1600/collage.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6yhR5erOdtAzrJ49oOj2vHX3li9IX8ErS6Vc5VWB01yxpQhjoA9tvLS2QhxR0gRfZeL8BVNM3cXxWN8gjoEb0tSyX1U0-_IaXAyIG0x8Db6CrT0H6bbemj_XY231xTT0pM1-Nmwf9jlc/s640/collage.jpg" width="640" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Don't mind my double chin peaking out ;)</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
What better way to explore the city than in what makes you feel most comfortable and happy? In the picture, I'm wearing a beautiful palm-printed dress that I got from H&M last year. It makes me so happy to be in it :)<br />
<br />
<h3>
6. Environmentally Friendly Transportation</h3>
Not that you need a "summer body" (any body you already have is just fine), but it <i>is</i> healthy to get in exercise whenever possible. So, when having these adventures during the summer, when you can, use an environmentally friendly method of getting there!<br />
<br />
For me currently, it's the bike, but it could be by foot, penny board, or rollerblades. Not only can you tone up your body, but it's also completely free! (which is always a win with me haha)<br />

Post-secondary students have free entry on Tuesday, so I jumped at the chance and went to visit a place I hadn't been in so long. Along the way, I stopped to take some photos.<br />

My biggest complaint about the ROM is the shitty lighting and the stupid glass glare that I can't seem to get rid of LOL. Those two things are the reason that these pictures aren't the greatest quality, they tripped my mobile camera out like crazy. (Oh how I wish I had a DSLR :(...)</div>

This favourites really doesn't have any beauty products at all, as they usually do. But, here are the things that I enjoyed in the month of April.<br />
<br />
<h3>
Muji Products</h3>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihGH4lz07zXPb7ItDB9iUsXIRIdxvc9m5TJoDXlLtYT6v0R-6pemiNVUhzQKeqywXZ4WWz7r6d6aS9rWq9WrkJEXFxwIG0tNtVTDam8U193SEBa2eYimB3kDyoTbntLMmPYJDyGV2CZ9Q/s1600/20160504_112320.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihGH4lz07zXPb7ItDB9iUsXIRIdxvc9m5TJoDXlLtYT6v0R-6pemiNVUhzQKeqywXZ4WWz7r6d6aS9rWq9WrkJEXFxwIG0tNtVTDam8U193SEBa2eYimB3kDyoTbntLMmPYJDyGV2CZ9Q/s640/20160504_112320.jpg" width="640" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Items from Muji: 2 black pens, light blue pen, dark blue pen, pencil case</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div>
<a href="http://www.muji.com/" target="_blank">Muji</a> is a Japanese store that literally means "no name brand." And for that reason, I love it. I love how minimalistic and plain everything is. All of the labels can be stripped off for a sleek look. I haven't tried their paper or home products, but I'm sure in the future I will be making lots and lots of visits back to that store!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<h3>
Mildliners by Zebra</h3>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPAZDi6M70af8s1YNOOlsbcKnzIP2S_X_benuW2BpSDXlppui4mpnXfvlWVbXSGiHAXwY4WAR9fD82yPX9KxHYuvPwH3_8l4gUu6-TbmwNSBIymjyQrmXWjdCy-CgLQtsCVP7XX1qUA38/s1600/20160504_112940.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPAZDi6M70af8s1YNOOlsbcKnzIP2S_X_benuW2BpSDXlppui4mpnXfvlWVbXSGiHAXwY4WAR9fD82yPX9KxHYuvPwH3_8l4gUu6-TbmwNSBIymjyQrmXWjdCy-CgLQtsCVP7XX1qUA38/s640/20160504_112940.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div>
I very recently got these <a href="http://www.jetpens.com/Zebra-Mildliner-Double-Sided-Highlighter-Fine-Bold-5-Mild-Fluorescent-Color-Set/pd/4866" target="_blank">highlighters</a> in the mail from Japan, but they are an instant favourite. These pastel colours are so lovely and candy-like. Can't wait to actually start using these!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<h3>
Avatar</h3>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://static.comicvine.com/uploads/original/4/47703/3176888-3136877181-55314.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://static.comicvine.com/uploads/original/4/47703/3176888-3136877181-55314.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<div>
I saw that "Avatar: Legend of Korra" was on Netflix and was immediately intrigued because I had seen some of "the Last Airbender" when I was a child. And, oh my goodness, let me just say that it's better than some of the shows that were meant for adults. A must watch. I also went back to "Avatar: The Last Airbender" just to re-jog my memory, and I'm so glad I did. I'm enjoying the two series immensely. I love how every second is either action-packed, hilarious, or adorable. Why can't we be benders?? ):</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<h3>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div>
It's been so long since I've drawn anything, and I'm so glad that I now have the time to do it again. I recently borrowed the how-to book from a friend and am having much fun drawing these chibis.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<h3>
Word Swag</h3>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.bloggenie.ca/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/wordswag.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://www.bloggenie.ca/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/wordswag.png" height="484" width="640" /></a></div>
<div>
The last favourite is an app that I purchased in April. <a href="http://wordswag.co/" target="_blank">Word Swag</a> lets you create stunning words to go with your stunning images. It's the app that I used to create the first picture of this post!</div>

First year was an interesting year for me, but, now that its all over, I can look back and see what I've done. So here's a list of some of the things that I've done and learnt this year.<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li>This year was the first year I'd ever lived away from my family (except for summer camps, of course). It was a new type of freedom, which came with both good and bad things. A good side of freedom is being able to do whatever you want, when you want it. Want to eat snacks at 2AM? Go for it! But, being completely free isn't always good because you're stuck with doing things like laundry, and having to buy your own things.</li>
<li>Unlike high school, attendance isn't taken in universities, as I'm sure most of you know. But, however, that doesn't mean you don't need to go to them-- <i>even</i> if in the moment they seem useless because near finals, you will regret that. I had a class where going to lectures seemed useless because the teacher would drone on and on about useless examples, however, when finals came around, I panicked because I learned that those examples were actually important (hopefully I don't make the same mistake again, haha) Contrastingly, sometimes lectures <i>are </i>truly useless. Like, my physics class, for example. Going there did not benefit me academically in any way. I was not more prepared for tests and I did not understand more material by going. In those instances, I don't think it would hurt to skip a few classes (or all the classes ;) )</li>
<li>On Monday, I had to say goodbye to the campus, and my dorm, a place that had become my home for the year. It was bittersweet because yay summer! and because I had to leave knowing that I would never see my dorm again, or ever live on campus. </li>
<li>I learned that moving out can be fun, but it's super stressful. Many times, I caught myself wondering "How the heck did I fit it all into my suitcase when I came here?" </li>
</ul>
So, what's happening now? Well, I recently found a summer job (but more on that later!) so hopefully, I will gain some new experiences and make money. As for next school year, that will be filled with moving out (to my own apartment!) and maybe, for the first time, getting my own pet.<br />
<br />
Thanks for reading this catching-up post with me,<br />

</tbody></table>
Recently, I've had many converstations, and seen many conversations happen in which people said that sexism does not exist anymore, and that women are just complaining. I'm going to try to refrain from swearing in this post, but <i>What the heck!?!?!</i> Like.... actually, what the heck; are you kidding me? I guess it can be hard to understand some of the struggles a woman may go through more often than men.<br />
<br />
This is not to say that all these situations are exclusive to women, because in most cases, they are not. But here's a compilation of stuff:<br />
<br />
<h3>
Don't exclude me because I'm female!</h3>
<div>
I've seen so many times where girls that are fully competent at a task (say basketball) get completely ignored by males. In the entire game, they would just not pass it to her, because she was a female, and apparently females, even if they're good at it, are not as good as the males. I understand that as kids grow up, there becomes more and more of a physical difference between the sexes, but, as kids, you're BASICALLY the same. So what's your excuse?</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Like, I get it, don't pass the ball to <i>me</i>, ever, because I literally will ruin the game for the team. BUT that's not because I'm a girl, that's because I'm a slut. And, just because I, and other females, cannot play basketball does not mean that NO girl can play basketball. <b>Your gender does not determine your ability to do things.</b> Please, don't assume.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<h3>
I can't study while your legs are showing!</h3>
<div>
Okay, I can't stand this one. So often, I see these articles about girls being sent home from school for wearing "inappropriate" outfits, when in reality, most of the time, the outfits are perfectly fine. "Please go home and change, your outfit is distracting." Distracting to who?! Are males going to jizz in their pants because they can't stand seeing knees, or arms, or some collar? Why must a girl need to go home to change an outfit where there's nothing wrong with it? So that the precious boys can learn? What are the girls going to do about the time that it took for them to get home and back? Don't girls need to learn too? </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I understand, if the outfit is <i>actually</i> inappropriate, it would be fair to send them home. But often, that's not the case. Here are some examples: <a href="http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-teenager-sent-home-for-violating-school-dress-code-by-showing-her-collarbones-10464020.html" target="_blank">1</a>, <a href="http://www.people.com/article/teen-sent-home-distracting-leggings" target="_blank">2</a>, <a href="http://www.torontosun.com/2015/05/25/inappropriate-outfit-gets-student-sent-home" target="_blank">3</a>, <a href="http://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/parenting/school-life/row-over-schoolgirl-sent-home-from-school-for-wearing-revealing-clothing-goes-viral/news-story/1877f435ce040a29c29ba10327f28e71" target="_blank">4</a>.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<h3>
Wage gap... Complicated, but real.</h3>
<div>
Okay, this one is a bit of a hard one to exist... So I'm gonna let John Green do it for me XD <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=it0EYBBl5LI" target="_blank">here</a> it is.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<h3>
Child Marriage</h3>
<div>
This one just makes me a mixture of both sad and mad. Those poor, poor girls in less developed countries. They don't deserve that, no one deserves that. I just wish they had a chance to grow up, physically and mentally. I wish that they had more freedom in who and when they got married, and when they needed to have kids. It breaks my heart that this <a href="http://www.international.gc.ca/rights-droits/childmarriage-mariageenfants/index.aspx?lang=eng" target="_blank">still</a> happens. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<h3>
Being Feminine is not a bad Thing</h3>
<div>
Another video link for this one, I think they say it better than me. Here's a video of the creators of ASAPScience, in which they talk about the overwhelming amount of comments on their videos that criticize the way they act "like women", are "so gay." Neither of those things define how good of content-creators, or educationers they are. In fact, I think they're great at what they do, regardless of how they may present themselves. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
---</div>
<div>
These are just some of the examples out there. (Honestly, I'm just super tired right now and this list is getting long anyways.... I wonder if anyone is still reading LOL) But yeah, sexism is still happening, all over the world. There are SO many things I have yet to touch upon. And one day, I hope that this stuff won't be a thing anymore, and that men and women will have the chance to be who they want to be without being discriminated because of their gender.</div>
<div>

Thanks for reading,</div>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Who is this girl? I have no idea...</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
I know that I'm weird, and I know that I'm random, but I really have know idea who I really am. I tweeted a <a href="https://twitter.com/strawberriesrox/status/711437537991139328" target="_blank">tweet</a> earlier on the lines of "you are you, and that's all you're ever going to be, so be the best you you could possibly be," and I've decided, it's time to find who I am, and the best I can be. <br />
<br />
Today I realized that a lot of what I do isn't for me, it's for other people. For example, I wouldn't say certain things because other people didn't want me to, or not post a picture I liked because someone told me it wasn't good enough. Not only that, I would also wait for and desire validation from others, usually in the form of likes on social media.<br />
<br />
I'm tired of this. I don't want to live a life where I'm pretending to be someone else, when I don't even really know who I am. So, from now on, I will post whatever I want, say whatever I want, when I want without a care in the world, because this is me. <br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
It's time to find out who I really am. I'm going to do this by first finding out what it is that I like, and then putting it out there in the world, even if someone else doesn't like it, because, let's face it, someone out there will always be a hater. I want to study more, learn more, and create more.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Overall, I just want to be me, and just me. And, surely, someone out there will like me for who I am..... right!? (lol).</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So yeah. Since this is a pretty big part of my life, expect more updates.</div>
<div>

Here are 5 study tips that I try to apply every time I have a <b>ton</b> of things to do!<br />
<br />
<h3>
1. Interval Study</h3>
<div>
Much like interval training, interval study is when you study for a period of time (usually 30 minutes, for me) and then take a short break (5 minutes). When you have a lot of things to do, you might think the last thing you should be doing is wasting time on breaks (like who has time for that shit??) But, it is important to give your brain a bit of a breather once in a while. During your break, your brain will have time to refresh itself and process the information that you threw into it in the last 30 minutes.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
An app I use for this is Forest (available on <a href="https://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/forest-stay-focused-be-present/id866450515?mt=8" target="_blank">iOS</a> and <a href="https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cc.forestapp" target="_blank">Android</a>). Not only does this app notify you when you finish your mini study session, it also prevents you from getting distracted by going on your phone! (Killing two birds with one stone is always the way to go!)<br />
<br /></div>
<h3>
2. Electronics = OFF!</h3>
<div>
I've already touched on this point above with the app Forest, but guys, it is so so so important to eliminate your distractions by turning off your electronics! It sounds obvious, but you have no idea how much it can help until you actually do it. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Sometimes, you might need to use the computer, but not the internet, in cases like that, I'd advise you to turn off the wifi. If you need the internet, then maybe look into add-ons that will ban you from using certain sites (ie. Facebook, YouTube, Twitter) for a certain amount of time. Although I don't do this, an example of this type of add-on is <a href="https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/stayfocusd/laankejkbhbdhmipfmgcngdelahlfoji?hl=en" target="_blank">StayFocused</a>.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<h3>
3. Have a Plan</h3>
<div>
It's a good idea to have at least a rouch idea of what you plan to accomplish every day. For me, I make a to-do list of all the things I ideally will finish every single day for a week, when I have busy weeks (eg. read chapter 12 for chemistry and finish lab report on monday). There's an actual week of my life where I did this, and it really helps! It's also a good idea to write down due dates, so you know the maximum amount of time you have to do something.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiviMBfqmE7qH3MY8DLBaFi2btn24XQWEZ5UsPX2drrtXfUi79qW3MTLpB1gVlLz9JsKF9MZWx8Fuk9invuC0x-XTR8Vjt1uzbSxvPtUHpF-SVAS0OW0I_MTlC15GecZ3X6rBNQe_x2lSM/s1600/20160216_221002.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiviMBfqmE7qH3MY8DLBaFi2btn24XQWEZ5UsPX2drrtXfUi79qW3MTLpB1gVlLz9JsKF9MZWx8Fuk9invuC0x-XTR8Vjt1uzbSxvPtUHpF-SVAS0OW0I_MTlC15GecZ3X6rBNQe_x2lSM/s1600/20160216_221002.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<h3>
4. Lifestyle Matters</h3>
</div>
<div>
The way you live when you're super duper busy matters, too! If you're too stressed, your preformance levels will start to drop and you won't be able to do as much as you ideally could. So, to prep yourself so that you can achieve your maximum potential, get <b>at least </b>6.5 hours of sleep. (I would say get a full 8 hours, but, really, who has time for that?) </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
You are what you eat! Seriously! Putting junk into your body will only make you feel sluggish. Make sure you stay hydrated and fill your bodies with lots of nutrients! There are all sorts of foods that can help boost your brain power so you can get the most out of your time. Examples of these foods include avocados, blueberries, and broccoli. Read <a href="http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/howto/guide/10-foods-boost-your-brainpower" target="_blank">this</a> for an explanation for what some of these foods are good for.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
One last thing, IISuperwomanII recently posted a video called <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ow9mKypqTQ4" target="_blank">"5 REAL Ways to get Your Work Done"</a> in which she outlines 5 seriously awesome strategies that we can implement into our lives when we want to get crackin'. (Seriously go watch it, it's an awesome video)</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Anyways, I hope these were at least some what helpful. Do you have any tips that I didn't mention? If so, please let me know in the comments!</div>

<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><div style="text-align: left;">
Hello from the other side!!! [..of midterms haha] I've actually thought about writing this post for a long, long time, but for some reason never got around to it. I think it's simply because there's so much stuff to write about that it just seems like a mammoth job. I'm gonna try to keep this short and concice though. This is a very important issue to me, and I've recently become a lot more troubled by it.. so here it goes!<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
</div>
<a href="http://davisenterprise.s3.amazonaws.com/files/2012/10/1007landfill78w1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://davisenterprise.s3.amazonaws.com/files/2012/10/1007landfill78w1.jpg" height="426" width="640" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">I would add an image source... but I really cannot seem to find its source... so sorry!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
In this day and age of mass purchasing and spending, we are wasting and throwing out more than ever! The average American makes <a href="http://storyofstuff.org/movies/story-of-stuff/" target="_blank">~4.5 pounds</a> of garbage a day, and that's a statistic from 2007. I wouldn't be surprised if that number is much higher today.<br />
<br />
Ever since going to university and eating university cafeteria food, I have been forced into many more situations where using reusable containers was not a choice. And as a person who <b>hates</b> wasting material, I feel absolutely terrible for using something for say half an hour and then throwing it out (ie. A coffee cup, or a paper plate). The campus where I go to school is home to another 12 thousand students. 12k students every day, using plastic cups, plastic utensils, paper/plastic containers, that's a <b>huge </b>amount of waste!<br />
<br />
On a much bigger scale, think about how much garbage food courts make in a day just from one-use objects! And some times, you think you're putting your waste into recycling bins, however, nothing is being done. This is the case for <a href="http://www.cbc.ca/news/business/tim-hortons-starbucks-recycling-garbage-1.3304770" target="_blank">Tim Horton's and Starbucks</a> (at least, in Canada).<br />
<br />
I encourage everyone to get aquainted with this topic, if they are not already. A great place to start is by watching <a href="http://storyofstuff.org/movies/story-of-stuff/" target="_blank">"The Story of Stuff."</a> To gain inspiration to start taking action, check out<a href="http://www.mindbodygreen.com/0-16168/i-havent-made-any-trash-in-2-years-heres-what-my-life-is-like.html" target="_blank"> Mind Body Green</a> to read the story of Lauren, an NYC girl who hasn't made any trash in two years.<br />
<br />
Now, of course, you don't have to go to that extreme, because for many people, that kind of lifestyle is highly unattainable. But, if we all do little things collectively, we can provide a solution to a big problem. Instead of getting coffee in the traditional paper/plastic Starbucks cups, you can get your own reusable<a href="https://ca.keepcup.com/?country=Canada#" target="_blank"> travel mug</a> (and even get a discount!) Personally, I carry around my own set of utensils (fork and spoon) so I never have to use the plastic ones.<br />
<br />
There's so many things we can do to put an end to this overspending on such unnecessary things that it seems silly to not do anything about it.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Thanks so much for reading,<br />

The new one is..... exercise!<br />
<br />
Now, now, I know that you all think, "Omg she is just like all the other annoying people who are like 'this year, I'm going to get super fit' and stop the regiment after a month." But I'm going to REALLY try. Try to exercise <i>more, </i>that is, just more, not every day. <br />
<br />
I've been on and off following Cassey from <a href="https://www.youtube.com/user/blogilates" target="_blank">Blogilates</a>, but haven't actually done most of her workouts. But, recently, I've found myself back on her page more often and trying some of them out. (As a result, my body is sore to the max!)<br />
<br />
If you guys also have exercise on your list of things to make a habit, and haven't given Cassey's workouts a try, here's one!<br />
<br />

Have fun!<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">From left to right, top to bottom: lip balm, body butter, FAB moisturizer, Clean & Clear moisturizer, face mask, exfoliator</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
During the winter, my skin looks basically like a dried up pavement with like a billion cracks (horrific, but true). So, without these things, I don't think I could make it through the cold Canadian months, haha. They're <i>essentials</i> to me!<br />
<br />
<h3>
1. Lip Balm</h3>
<div>
If I go even a night without lip balm, my lips will start crusting and cracking, and all-round looking disgusting. The one I've been using the most often is one by eos. I love the waxy consistency (even though some people hate it), I just think it seals in the moisture really well. I think the flavour I have is called Peppermint Vanilla (I forgot, lol, if I'm wrong, I'm so sorry)</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<h3>
2. Facial Moisturizer</h3>
<div>
A moisturizer is <i>so </i>important to me, like, if I don't use it for even a day, I will notice dry flakey patches (not pretty) on my face. The one I use at nighttime is the "First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream." It's really thick and creamy (duh), but the thing I kind of dislike about it is the smell. Although it's not strong, it's definitely not something I would call pleasing.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
In the mornings, my favourite is one by Clean and Clear called "Morning Burst, Hydrating gel Moisturizer." Oh my god, the smell is <i>amazing</i>. It smells like melons, and from a person who doesn't even really like melons, it still smells like heaven. It's a really light formula that goes on really easily and sinks in real quick.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<h3>
3. Face Exfoliator</h3>
<div>
I don't exfoliate every single day (that would be too much!) but when I do, I use the "Acure Brightening Facial Scrub." It has argan stem cell and chlorella growth factor, and because of those ingredients, it kind of looks like you're putting seaweed mud on your face. Sounds gross, but I swear, after, your face feels like a baby's bum. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<h3>
4. Body Butter</h3>
<div>
I've got a huge tub of the "Shea Body Butter" by The Body Shop, and if there's still anyone out there who hasn't tried it (I swear, everyone has, by now), The Body Shop body butters are like really thick moisturizers. Usually, I find them kind of gross and sticky, as they tend to be very oily (especially in the summer), but in the winter time, I'm so dry, I literally could not care. The thickness and oiliness actually goes to help my skin be "normal." </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<h3>
5. Hydrating Face Mask</h3>
<div>
Again, this is something I don't use daily (more like weekly), the one I have is the "Amino Herbal Hydration Mask" by OZ Naturals. I tend to use this in conjunction with the face exfoliator mentioned above, and the combo gives me what feels like new skin. If you ever see me stroking my face like a weirdo, you know what products I just used on my face, LOL. This mask is a clear gel that you just apply to your face, and as it dries, it gives you this cooling, tingly feeling that's really nice. The mask also has hyaluronic acid, vitamin B5, and vitamin E, which are all super great for your skin.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Are there any items that are absolutely essential in your winter skincare routines? Leave them in the comments below, as I would love to find more gems, haha.</div>
